The Ford G798 is a light truck produced in West Germany (later: West Germany) from the post-war period. Serial production started in 1956. The drive was provided by a single 100 HP 8-cylinder engine. The maximum speed was up to 84 km / h. The cart was 5.73 meters long and 2.32 meters wide. The production of the G798 model was carried out in the Ford plants, which were established in Germany in the 1930s. After World War II, due to the need to rebuild the country after the defeat and considerable investments indirectly related to the Marshall Plan, the Ford plants in Germany continued to produce the 3-ton truck model known from 1939-1945, known as the Ford Rhein or the Ford Rhur. However, in the mid-1950s, new models with a load capacity from 1.5 to 4.8 tons and powered by new diesel engines entered production. One of the models of these trucks with all-wheel drive (4x4) was produced as the Ford G798 BA. The car was used by the armed forces of several NATO countries, and as the G398 it was also used by the West German armed forces in 1957-1961.
